Circus Suburbia will return to the International Youth Arts Festival 2011 with both a community and a professional show this year! 14th-17th July 2011, The Little Bird Festival, Kingston Fairfield. KT1 2UP.

 Search for the Holy Grail

We have been working with various youth groups in Kingston to create some amazing acts for this year's IYAF with people who have never done circus before. Plus our Youth Circus students have been working hard to impress audiences with their acts. Funded by the Royal Borough of Kingston and Arts Council England. Communication for deaf participants on Saturday 16th July.

We had so much fun creating 'Picnic with the Circus' last year that we are returning to IYAF with a new show - Search for the Holy Grail. We put a tent up on Wednesday, then open the doors to the public on Thursday at 11am for three days of workshops from which we create the show to be performed at 6pm on the Saturday evening. If you want to be part of Kingston's own circus show, come to the Fairfield and join in! Rehearsals are throughout the day on Saturday 16th July. We shall be joined by The Bighead to have live music in our show and you can see their music at http://www.myspace.com/thebigheaduk.

Thursday and Friday are free and open to anyone! Just turn up, or if you'd like to come as a group, email numbers, ages and times you're coming to mail@circussuburbia.co.uk.

Saturday costs £5 to enter the festival site, but those performing with us are free. So come along on the Thursday or Friday to join the circus for the weekend!

Circus Suburbia's Show

The International Youth Arts Festival has supported us by finding funding from the Foyle Foundation to allow us to work on our very first touring show!

See what we make on Sunday 17th July in the Circus Big Top on the Fairfield. We'll be combining the juggling skills of Jon Udry with the balance and movement skills of Alice Allart, and aerialists Leyla Rees, Maddy Hardwick and Katie Hardwick.

Leyla and Katie also recently won the Emma Insley Aerial Creation Fund Award to develop their spinning silks act which was shown in part at last year's festival. See the new work in progress in the Circus Suburbia show!
